DOGS AND CATS

Petra (my favourite volunteer) arrived one day wanting to carry out a census of all us dogs.  What followed thereafter was a great game of ‘Catch me if you can’! Petra ran around the compound trying to catch each dog to take its photo. All of us dogs let her get quite near us before we ran away in the opposite direction. What fun we had that day! As the day went on, Petra’s face got redder and redder. However, in the end, we let her take each of our photos and now here I am. Nobody knows how I got here or when I got here but here I am and here I will stay unless someone on the island or somewhere wants to give me a home.

I have very big luck because was chosen from  Anna from the Animal Protection Network in Sweden. (www.animalprotection.se). to fly to Sweden. She saw me on the homepage und decide to take me to Sweden, so I could have a better live. The organization paid the fly for me and now I live very happy in Sweden. I love my new home very much!

You can see a couple of photos of (Swedish) Mike in his new house. He has been rehomed by a 65 year old lady who lives in a large house with a large garden. She loves Mike very much and he is always with her. He lives on a diet of chicken, rice and vegetables. Subsequently he has put on some weight but has also gained some nice muscles. He is a very happy and playful dog and loves his long walks in the forest and the company of his new female friend! (Thank heavens he was neutered while on Koh Samui!)

I used to live at the Solo Bar in Chaweng but I didn't like it there. Annsofi, a tourist from Sweden, visited the bar one day and realized that I wasn't well. She called Brigitte who picked me up and brought me to the vet for treatment. After that, I was brought back to the bar. Since Annsofi wanted me to come to Sweden the helpers of the DRCS picked me up once more. Unfortunately, I cannot go to Sweden, since I would have to be in quarantine for a very long time and Annsofi was worried about me handling the transport. But I live at the shelter in Ban Taling Ngam now in one of the most beautiful compounds. I like it here a lot as there is plenty of food and fresh water and a lot of doggie friends to play with.

I was found by Khun Jintana on the pavement. I was only six weeks old and had lost my mother. Khun Jintana couldn't look after me as she has six dogs and has to work full-time at the Banana Fan Sea Hotel. The Banana Fan Sea Hotel is dog-friendly and is recommended by all the dogs on the island for animal lovers. I love it here at the rescue center as I stay in the house with Fanta, Blindi and Husky. It is difficult for a dog to get a place in the house as it is meant to be a cat haven. Because I am so lovely, Brigitte fell in love with me and let me stay in the house. Brigitte sometimes finds it difficult to love me as I eat her furniture. I love to play with the other dogs in the house and I particularly like taunting Blindi. I like to play with the cats but sometimes I get too rough with them and they chase me away.

Hurrahh! I now live in Germany and eat Bio sausage and sleep in a proper bed! Petra sent me as a surprise for her friend Eckhard to Germany and he's very happy with me now!

Brigitte and her friends were out catching dogs in Chaweng when they caught me. Normally, they take dogs away, give them some sort of operation and some vaccinations, then return the dogs to their homes. However, I had contracted some sort of antisocial infection because I had hung around with the wrong sort of bitch. As a result, I had to be kept at the shelter for several months until I became well. At that point, Brigitte wasn’t sure I could look after myself if I was put back on the streets so she has decided I must live here. Hopefully, I will get a new owner but, until then, I’m OK here and the food’s good.

After some time at the shelter I got bored and decided to take my life in my own paws again and ran away. While I was living at the shelter, Brady and Faith Anne from the USA were looking after me. Thank you very much.

We were all skinny and hungry and Felix was even sick. Monika took care of us for about 5 weeks and got us on our paws again. Unfortunately, she has to go back to Germany, that's why she has brought us to the DRCS. But Monika promised us that she will try to find a new home for us in Germany. Maybe we can fly soon!
