CLEO (female)

I was brought to the shelter by a tourist as I had a large hole in my back, my ears were very itchy and my eyes kept oozing pus. I was looked after by Daeng every day and he cleaned and dressed my wound until it got better. He also gave me special medication for my ears and my eyes. I've had an operation to stop me having more babies and, as a result, I've put on some weight but I still like to bounce around the compound saying hello and playing with the other dogs.

Gabriela from Zürich in Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

PARLO (male)

Parlo was found in the animal shelter in July 2009 when the team of the DRCS was taking new pictures of all  the cats.  He creeped in the rest of the group so that she almost hadn't been noticed. I suppose that actually he was brought to the animal shelter for being neutered but his owner didn't come and pick him up anymore. We took him to the cat house. He is very nice and cuddly.

Peggy and Vanessa  from Bielefeld in Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

LINDT (female)

I have a displaced lower jaw by birth, I have an under bite and I can hardly eat and drink. However, here in the animal shelter I get adequate food and I get along well with the other companions. They aren't bothered by my weird appearance – thank goodness!

Nadine and Alan from Lachen in Switzerland are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BABS alias WINDLIN (female)

Hello, my new name is Babs. That is what I looked like when I arrived at the Dog Rescue Center in September 2009. I didn't have the heart to come out of the corner, I just hid there and didn't want to take food. Bärbel took me to another shelter to a pride of anxious dogs. She fed me by hand because I just didn't want to live anymore. But when the food was served in this manner I could eat in peace – now I'm of good cheer. They always prepare rice for me which I really like. I get many strokes and I play with my friends. Only now, that  I made the grade to eat on my own and feel better, Günter named me Babs, and I have to say I kind of like it!

Remo from Spesbach in Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SWISS (female)

Swiss was supposed to stay with us “temporarily” only. We never heard of the owner anymore. The telephone number he gave us on the file card was wrong. Swiss is a bit shy and - as all the dogs who already have been living with an owner for a longer time – feel sad at the beginning. By and by he will feel better. With the other dogs he gets along well

Christina from Freiburg in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

GRUMPY (male)

I had to stay in a single box for a long time because my back legs were paralyzed due to an accident on the street. I could be rehabilitated so I can walk again. However it looks funny when I walk because I stagger around, but my friends don't mind. I even like to play with them again.

Sandra and Jörg from Bielefeld in Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

DICKER (male)

I used to stay in Chong Mon at the DivePoint. For many years I was protecting the place, doing a real good job that no bad people entered the shop. About five months ago I decided to not like children anymore and attached several of them. Not bad though but I have bitten 3 children and that was reason enough for my people to have me removed. Even I don't know why I did that....I think they were just too loud or something. Now I live at the DRCS and try to become a good boy....

Alexandra from Pfatter in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SMOKY (female)

My owner just abandoned me and my sister Blacky here. I was very sad for a long time and I didn't even want to eat. But now I play with Günter very often. He would be my favourite new companion but Lucky Song, Marla and many others would like him to be their new owner too. I think I am one of his favourites too, I can feel it .

Daniela from Boppard in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

KERRIGEN (female)

I am already a pretty old lady with hardly any teeth left. I used to live on the street and loved the feeling of freedom and independence. Unfortunately that changed once the humans took away 'my restaurant' and I simply didn't have the energy to go and find myself a new and save place to live. So the people from the DRCS came to pick me up and brought me to the shelter. I actually quite like it here, I got my place, my friends and have found my humor again.

Liz from Melbourne in Australia is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

METZI (female)

When I first got to the shelter, I was totally naked. Since I was without any fur, and badly covered with open wounds, nobody seemed to really care where I came from and what I did before the DRCS. Well, now I am here and as you can see, I only miss some hair on my tail. I feel pretty good and have already found some lovely doggies to play with. Cool to finally be furry!

Carina from Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

ROMEO (male)

Since I never had a real home or anyone that could look after me, I don't have any place to go back to....even if I should get healthy and strong again one day. More or less all my life I have been on the search for food and a nice save place to settle. Unfortunately all the places I liked were already taken and I was constantly chased away either by other dogs or humans. When I got very weak and sick, I was brought to the DRCS by some lovely tourists that found me on the road. I am giving my best to get better and the people here are making sure that I don't loose the strength to live.

Tiago from Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

JOSH (male)

Josh was found in a terrible state of health in Maenam. He was very mangy and really skinny. He was too weak for being neutered for a very long time. He is still mangy around his nose but a salve is applied daily.By now he put on weight and he seems to feel comfortable in the animal shelter. Josh is really curious and always wants to be in the first row to see what's going on

Christina from Freiburg in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MARLO (male)

I am pretty old already and happy that I don't have to search for my food. All I know is that I was brought here after an accident and that besides the wounds I hardly had any fur. Thankfully my hair is slowly slowly coming back and I start to look like a real dog again...an old one maybe. but who cares. I spend most of my time in front of the vets' office and watch the visitors come and go. What more do I want?

Remo from Spesbach in Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MERYL (female)

I came to the DRCS when I was a tiny little puppy. I was very sick and people didn't really believe that I would make it. Thanks to Linda and Jay I did make it and hope that I will find a new home one day. Until then I will enjoy every day here at the puppy house and make sure that I put on some more weight.

Britta from Kalmar in Sweden is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MARZIPAN (female)

I used to have a really nice family and a great place to stay. Unfortunately my family had to leave the island and the neighbors promised to look after me. I think I missed my family so much that I became sick and I started to have some really strange shakes going on all the time. Apparently I have a brain problem that costs the shaking....it's like I'm dancing non-stop. The neighbors though that was an embarrassment and sent me to the DRCS. Here everyone accepts me just the way I am and life has become good again. I still miss my family but the new people around here are just as nice.

Lene from Hvidovre in Denmark is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BLACKY (female)

My owner just abandoned me and my sister Smoky here. I was very sad for a long time and I didn't even want to eat. But now I play with Günter very often. He would be my favourite new companion but Lucky Song, Marla and many others would like him to be their new owner too. I think I am one of his favourites, I can feel it .

Christina from Hanau in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

CLEA (female)

Monika from Austria is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

When I got pregnant, the people who were looking after me did  not want me anymore and threatened to kill me. Thankfully I was picked up by some lovely people from the DRCS and looked after my babies at their puppy house for a while. I don't know why, but none of my babies survived. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I got cancer. Anyway, I am doing a lot better now and I am happy that I can live in the puppy house and be around my great caretakers every day.

SIRA (female)

Doris from Kölln-Reisiek in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

I arrived at the DRCS about 2 months ago (beginning of 2010) together with my new babies and my sister. My babies all died and my sister found a new owner. I am a good natured and quiet kinda girl who's looking for a new family. Until then, I hope to find someone who would like to sponsor me. It's actually quite ok here at the shelter and as long as I can live in the puppy house my world's all alright...

POLLY (female)

Sandy and Sven from Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

Some lovely tourists picked me up from the street and brought me to the DRCS. It was clear that I couldn't go back to where I came from for so many reasons. When I was about to get spayed, they found out that I was pregnant and so I got a lovely room in the puppy house where I had my babies. Unfortunately they all got sick and died and I also had a long fight until I was feeling better. The puppy house is where I am now and hopefully where I will stay for a lot longer...

LUDWIG (male)

I was found in the dog shelter in July 2009 when the team of the DRCS was taking new pictures of all the other dogs. I creeped in the rest of the group so that they nearly failed to take notice of me. Brigitte supposes that actually I was brought to the animal shelter for being neutered but my owner didn't want me anymore. Now I live in one of the big kennels where I feel at ease with the other dogs and even play with them a lot of the time

Ilona and Hans from Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

LATZI (weiblich)

Nathalie from Jegenstorf in Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

FLEA BAG (male)

The volunteers Jay and Tom found me on a side road, totally starved and with just enough energy left to stand on my four paws. They picked me up and took me to the shelter, where they first got rid of the thousands of fleas I had all over my body. Apparently I have blood parasites. Whatever that is, I'm kind of glad to know that there is a reason why I feel so sick. However, I feel better with each day and look forward to the day I turn into a strong healthy dog again.

Alexandra from Pfaffenhoffen in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SALSA (female)

Hello, I am Salsa and came to the DRCS a few month ago. I am still a pretty young dog and came to the shelter because of my pretty nasty wound on the neck. I had to be treated and looked after for quite some time. Once I was back on track and finished all my medication, the DRCS-people got me integrated into one of the lovely (but pretty full) outside compounds. Thankfully I have made a lot of friends here and enjoy my time playing with them all. Apart from the annoying mange, I'm a very happy dog!

Jessica from Sweden is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

WHITNEY (female)

I used to live in a lovely little garden center in the Chaweng area, where I knew everyone and had a lot of friends and other dogs to play with. Unfortunately my people had to close the shop down because somebody else planned to build a fancy restaurant there. My people could not take me with them and the new restaurant owners didn't like me and didn't give me any food until I was so thin that I had to get serious treatments. Thankfully the lovely volunteer girls from the Rescue Center cared enough about me and made sure that I got my place in the DRCS where I have now found a lot of new friends to play with.

Anne from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!
