I have been wondering around on the streets of Samui since I can remember. Things went alright and I was quite happy with my life. This all changed when I got Demodetic mange, by far the most serious type of mange. My skin itches terribly and I have open wounds covering my body...and of course not much hair left. One day I happened to get away from the road and made my way down to the beach and landed up right in front of Jay and Lindas home. The girls have been working for the DRCS for many years... What are the odds!!? They immediately started the treatment and kept me at their house over night. Once at the DRCS, I got my own room in the puppy house where I have now started a pretty intense medical program. I am sure that I will soon look as pretty as most other dogs around here...

Me and my sister were picked up from a lovely resort in Chaweng where we had stayed all our lives. We loved it there and were looking forward to going back home once the people from DRCS had spayed us. For some strange reason we were not welcomed to go back and the DRCS was forced to keep us at the shelter. Thankfully the puppy-house-people allowed us to stay in there where we get delicious food every day and have a lot of little ones to play with.

I used to live in a beautiful and save Temple area, had a lot of other dogs to play with, got food several times a day, I was simply a happy and healthy free dog. Not sure why this had to happen to me but I caught a very bad virus which makes it almost impossible for me to control my body. My head and back is constantly moving back and forward.. I’ve been left with permanent neurological damage and will have to spend the rest of my life at the shelter. Thankfully I am not the only ‘dancer’ (as they often call us) here at the shelter and have almost gotten used to it. I started playing with the other young dogs and on most days I don't feel much different than all the other ones....

I arrived at the Dog Rescue when I was only a very small and half naked puppy. Thankfully I was allowed to stay in Brigitte and Werners home until I was fully vaccinated. I have made a pretty good recovery so far but since I was never one of those super pretty puppies, nobody wanted to adopt me. I’m not getting any younger and the chances for me to be adopted are getting slimmer…. But I was told to never give up hope and that’s exactly what I’m going to do!

I come from a pretty deserted area and finding food was a hard task every single day. There were no houses or restaurant where I could have found any food. On top of being hungry every day I also started to loose almost all my fur and wounds appeared all over my body. I'm not sure if I should call it luckily, but one day I was hit by a motorbike and this person was kind enough to call the DRCS and had me picked up. The injuries from the accident were only very minor to what I've got going on otherwise. I still won't have anyone touch me but I'm eating all the colorful pills they give me and enjoy all the delicious food...

Me and my 6 sisters and brothers were abandoned in the middle of a jungle where we had to deal with dangerous snakes all alone from one day to the other. It was hard to be taken away from our Mum as well.... Thankfully the DRCS-people came to rescue us and brought us to a foster family where we stayed for 3 weeks until we were all fully vaccinated and then brought to the puppy house at the shelter. All my sisters and brothers have already found a new home. I'm still waiting to get lucky....

I cannot tell much about the first few months of my life. For some strange reason I don't have any memories. I only remember getting out of a really hot and smelly rice bag at the DRCS. Apparently someone dumped me in front of the DRCS-gate in this bag where breathing wasn't easy. The DRCS people took me in and cleaned me up real nice. I had to be isolated at first (wasn't really isolated, I got a pretty fancy room in the puppy house though) until I had my vaccinations. Now I spend my days running around with all the other young dogs at the shelter and hope, that one day someone will come and adopt me. It's nice here but the thought of having my own family is pretty cool!

Originally I should have only stayed at the shelter for a few weeks until my owner would pick me up and take me back home again. Unfortunately this never happened and I have given up waiting for him. I have made my peace with the fact that I will have to spend the rest of my life here at the shelter. Every day I feel a little better and have even made some friends.

I was picked up in Chaweng by two helpers of the DRCS and received the necessary treatment once I arrived at the shelter. I think that's what saved my life. I felt really sick and got weaker with every passing day. I'm sure that I wouldn't have made through this monsoon rain out there all by myself. I'm slowly but surely on the way to becoming a healthy and pretty strong young dog. I have found a lot of playmates here and love to fool around with those volunteers. All has worked out ok!
