DOGS AND CATS

DICK (male)

I was living in the north of Chaweng and was very happy running around with my best friend. However, I got involved in a fight with a much bigger dog and he won! I had a big wound in the back of my head and was in much pain. The people round about ignored me until I met Michelle from Blue Planet Diving School. She made friends with me and brought me to the shelter. My wound was cleaned up and I'm starting to look much better.

At the moment, I do not need a sponsor as I have left the shelter - someone left the gate open and I legged it. I've moved back to my previous patch in North Chaweng and Michelle at Blue Planet Diving School is keeping an eye on me.

ROSA 2 (female)

Nobody knows where I came from. None of the staff remembers collecting me from anywhere and no-one remembers anyone bringing me to the shelter. However, here I am and it's almost perfect. I live in the cat hotel here so I can stay inside or go outside to play. The only cloud on the horizon is that I will have to get an operation to stop me having babies.

After a big storm a palm leaf damaged the fence of the cathouse and Rosa Song run away with a few other cats.

During the time at the shelter, Hannelore from Hamburg in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.

LORD (male)

I came into the shelter as my owner didn't want me any more. Something happened to my eyes and I could not see. Because I was not perfect, my owner didn't want me. My eyes were blue and opaque but after three months and special treatment at the shelter, I got my eyesight back. However, my owner doesn't want me anymore and already has a replacement dog. Although I am a big dog, I tend to get bullied, even by much smaller dogs.

I found a home on Koh Samui! I was lucky!

WHOOPI (female)

I was brought by Daniela from the New Star Resort. Unfortunately, a lot of dogs are poisoned round about there. Everybody denies poisoning the dogs - the hotel blames it on the tourists but the poisoning happens every three months or so. Maybe the New Star Resort is only frequented by dog poisoners! Daniela wanted to sponsor me but there was a small mix up so now Sascha is my sponsor. Sascha spent three weeks working at the shelter with his mother and he really fell in love with me.

Sascha from Zurich in Switzerland will now looking after me. Thank you very much. But I ran away and I am now strolling around the market. But you can find me there very easily. Sascha will surely visit me some time.

My owner Sharon brought me and my friend Kira (to Brigitte. Brigitte was supposed to take care of us until Sharon would take us to Spain. That's what she promised. Unfortunately, Sharon didn't keep her word. Brigitte wrote Sharon many times asking whether she still wants us or not. Sharon never answered. Well, now we are at the shelter and it is not so bad after all, even though we were really looking forward to go to Spain. 

Jipee! I was lucky and found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the shelter, Natascha from Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!   

SNAPY (female)

I used to live at the Pinnacle Resort in Maenam. I thought it was a nice resort, but the people there were not nice at all. They have kicked me and pushed me around. One day Antje, a tourist from Germany, came to the resort and fell in love with me. She called Brigitte and asked her to take me to the shelter since there was no future for me in the resort. Of course, Brigitte thinks I am very cute as well and now I run around with many others in front of the kitchen of the shelter in Ban Taling Ngam. I am not the only puppy here, there are more my size with whom I can play all day long. Maybe I am lucky and Antje will take me to Germany later! 

Antje from Cologne in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!   

I used to live on one of the small islands in front of Krabi. There, I was strolling around, very hungry, with a bad eye and searching something to eat when Gary and his girlfriend found me. They were on vacation and had to leave to Bangkok the next day, so they called Brigitte. Then, everything happened very quickly. Gary took me to Bangkok, put me on a plane to Koh Samui and somebody picked me up at the airport and brought me to Brigitte's house. I was checked by the vet, but he said that there is no cure for my bad eye. But that's OK, since I have a lot of pals to play with here, and there is always a lot of food and water. 

Jipee: I found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at Brigitte's house, Gary from Fairfax in the USA was looking after me. Thank you very much!
