LEISO (male)

I guess I was playing a little too ruff when it all happened. I cut myself open pretty badly. I was rushed to the DRCS with a huge wound along my front where I got immediate medical attentio n. Thanks to the lovely vet Anna from Germany who took such intense care, I feel much better and can even play with the others in the puppy house. My wounds are almost closed and things look pretty good again.

Tanja from Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

CHIBA (female)

Chiba used to live in Koh Phangan. When her life was in danger, Bondi from the Netherlands saved her and brought her to us in Koh Samui. Chiba lives now at the shelter in Baan Taling Ngam and is bonding well with the other dogs.

Bondi from Den Haag in the Netherlands is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

MAGERLI (female)

I cannot tell you what exactly happened to me and why I'm not able to walk properly and control my balance. All I know is that I am very happy where I am now and that I get super special food every day. I know you can't really see it in the picture but I am actually a very thin cat and it seems an impossible task to put some weight on me. People say I'm a little brain damaged too....but who cares, I am happy and make the best out of each day...

Stephanie from Viersen in Germany will take care for me. Thank you very much.

LOTOS (female)

I was abandoned at the mall Tesco-Lotos. Of course, I was chased away from there by the many guards in the parking lot. In most cases dogs are not wanted there. Therefore I kept on running into the very busy street. Tourists informed the DRCS about me and since I didn't  have much chance of survival along the street, I went to the DRCS shelter. It's actually pretty ok here, I got to know a lot of other doggies and I believe I will get old here...and that's a good thing!

Lauren from Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

NINJA (male)

I used to live near Hua Thanon and was happy with all the other dogs running around. Every night we used to rummage through the trash bins and it looked pretty messy around them in the mornings. Then somebody decided that this had to stop and suddenly the food from the bins tasted weird. Many of my pals died. Someone has tried to poison us all. Brigitte from DRCS heard about this and came immediately to rescue me and another dog who had survived. This dog also died, but not me. I have survived. I now live in the Big Shelter in Ban Taling Ngam and I really like it a lot. I jump up on every visitor, that's a lot of fun. I also like it when volunteers come who brush and stroke me.

Nicole from Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BAILEY (female)

I was just a very small and very ill puppy when I first came to the DRCS. I had a bad leg and a –in most cases- deadly virus. I was so thin and weak that nobody would really believe that I had the power to fight and get myself back up. BUT I did! I had great people taking care of me at the shelter, and I just thought I would give them something back by getting healthy again….AND I did!

Leila from Switzerland is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

GRINGO (male)

I was brought to the DRCS in Chaweng by my prior owner because of a nasty wound on my neck. I was then brought to the big shelter, where they made sure that I got all the necessary treatment and of course I also got neutered. Once ready to face the outside world again, I was brought back to where I came from - not far from the DRCS office in Chaweng. Due to the excellent food and the attention from the people at the DRCS, I decided to make my way back to the office where I know live just outside the gate. I even have a little shelter, water and top-food and some playmates.....

Marie from Detmold in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

HENKA (female)

Great news: I found a new home on Koh Samui! While I was staying at the DRCS, Tanja from Schupbach in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

KUNO (male)

Helga from Auer in Italy is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

KIMMY (female)

I am too small for a large enclosure, so I had the good fortune to change in the flight enclosure, because I am very healthy and also very friendly, for here the dogs change more often, many are only shortly here with me, but the meal is very deliciously, and I get share of kindness and affection. But I feel especially gladly if Bärbel or Günter comes with the hair brush, but at the barbers shop I’m always a little prissy.

Great news: I found a new home on Koh Samui! While I was staying at the DRCS, Alexandra from Pfatter in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

PORTI (male)

I’m a small male dog and used to have a family, but they didn’t want me any longer and so I ended up here.  In the large enclosure, I strongly was suppressed. Since I am a lot weaker than the other male dogs, I ended up in the enclosure for the anxious and thin dogs.  It's crazy here, except “Tinkerbell” which is even smaller than I am, only ladies and they all are very playful and dear to me. There I can find complete expression correctly. Finally I get rice with meat and share of kindness and affection. There I want to sit always very above on the lap of Günter, so that I can lick his neck, so I am finally once very above and the largest.

Porti found a new home in Germany.

During her time at the shelter, ASusan from Ismaning in Germany was looking after her. Thank you very much.

STRUBBEL (male)

Unfortunately nobody knows where I really came from. I was picked up on the road by the DRCS-Team and they brought me to the shelter. Beside the treatment of my pretty nasty wound, they also made sure that I got some proper food....and not only every few days. All is good now and I am happy to be able to stay here since I'm not sure if I could survive well by myself.

Sandy from Mainz am Rhein in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!
