NERO (male)

My owner decided he didn't like me any more because I developed arthritis - hence the strange bend in my left front leg. At least he didn't dump me in the middle of nowhere like a lot of my new friends here. My owner brought me to the shelter and left me tied up at the gate. I wish he would come back.

Jippee: I found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the DRCS Daniela from Pielenhofen in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

CILIA  (female)

I was living in Lamai and surviving on food given by tourists in some of the restaurants there. However, one restaurant owner in particular didn't like me and kept chasing me away by throwing things at me. I nearly got run over by a car when he chased me on to the road. One of the tourists picked me up and brought me to the shelter where I now live. The food isn't as good here (I like human food which has been dropped on the floor, mixed with dirt and stood on) but I'm happy enough.

Tanja from Schupbach in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

REINER (male)

They have given me the name of Reiner but I also go by the name of Mr Mysterious. Nobody at the shelter knows where I came from and I'm not telling them anything. The food is better here than my last abode and I always have plenty of water to drink.

Birgit and Michael from Germany are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

RUBINA (female)

I was a stray dog living in the area of the big animal shelter and I used to come up and visit the other dogs every now and then. I found out that if I sat outside the gate, someone would let me in. Then I could wander around for a chat with the other dogs and eat their food. When I got bored with that, I would sit at the gate and someone would let me out. This went on for months and then one day I decided to stay here for ever. I like it here.

Great news: I found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the DRCS, Nina from Norway was looking after me. Thank you very much!

DONA (female)

I was born near a hotel in Lamai where I lived for the first few weeks of my life with my brother and my mother. However, somebody put poison down to kill the rats and my mother ate one of the rats. She died a long and lingering death because of that poison. Brigitte heard about this and sent someone to collect us but, by that time, my brother had also died. I live now at the big shelter and Brigitte has promised me that no one will ever poison me. Suits me.

Angela from the United Kingdom is now looking after me. Thank you very much.

REXY (female)

My owner decided that I needed a special operation to stop me having babies. So, he brought me to the shelter and I had the operation. My owner was meant to collect me after a week but he never turned up. Brigitte telephoned him several times and he always promised to come and get me. Some promise as I'm still here!

Jessica and Benny from Enköping in Sweden were m y godparents until I was rehomed to Petra in Bo Phut. Please come and take tea with me there in the Tea Room.

LIOBA (female)

I was living in Maenam and being looked after by my Australian owner. He loved me and I loved him, or so I thought. One day, he decided he had to return to Australia so he packed his bags and just left, leaving me to fend for myself! All he left me was a bowl of water and three tins of dog food (no tin opener). Is he crazy or what? I got hungrier and hungrier and started to beg for food from the neighbors but they all had their own dogs or didn't want me around. I was STARVING! One of the helpers at the shelter was collecting a dog nearby and saw me so he collected me too. Several months later, I have now regained weight and am much happier as I know Brigitte will not run off and leave me like my owner.

Jipee: I found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the shelter, Jannet and Lars from Denmark were looking after me. Thank you very much.

ANDRE (male)

I was brought in by three tourists who befriended me in Maenam. I had really bad mange, had lots of ticks and fleas, and was really thin. They had tried to feed me but I was very shy around them and other animals. Because they were going home, they brought me to the shelter where Don immediately bathed me in Amitraz to get rid of my mange and gave me lots of injections to make me a big, strong dog. I've settled down at the shelter and am no longer shy with any of the visitors or the other dogs.

Great news: I have found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the shelter, Jannet and Lars from Denmark were looking after me. Thank you very much.

OTTELLA (female)

I was hanging around the ferry terminal at Nathon but the staff there didn't want me as they were already looking after another dog. I tried to sneak on to the ferry boat but I was caught and brought to the shelter at Ban Taling Ngam. It's OK here as I don't have to fight for my food and the other dogs are really friendly.

While I stayed at the shelter Sandra and Jimmy from Stuttgart in Germany were looking after me. Thank you very much.
