JOCK (male)

I came here as a very young puppy as I was wandering around the streets of Nathon and getting in everyone's way. I like it here at the shelter but my favorite thing is sitting on someone's lap. I could sit for hours there being stroked and petted. So, if you come to visit, make sure you speak to me and let me sit on your lap.

Great news: I have found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the shelter, Anke from Boppard in Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much!

SHAGGY (female)

I had an owner but she moved to Bangkok and just abandoned me to wander around the streets. The neighbors didn't like me as I chased their cats so I was sent to the dog shelter. It's OK here as I get to play with the other dogs in my compound and the volunteers are always coming in to speak to us.

Hurrah my owner came back and took me home. I do not need a sponsor anymore. For the time I was at the DRCS, Maria from Augsburg in Germany took care of me. Thank you very much!

BRUISER (female)

I had an owner but he got fed up with me chasing and eating the local chickens - my last game of playing with the chickens cost my owner 1000 Baht. These weren't any old chickens, they were special, fighting chickens. So, I now live at the shelter where I can't escape to chase the chickens. Pity. Chickens taste better than dog food.

Hurrah my owner came back and took me home. I now live in a home with a big wall around it so I can't escape. I do not need a sponsor anymore. While I was at the shelter, Sonja took care of me. Thank you very much!

DONALD (male)

Ian and Allison found me behind MacDonald's and brought me in because I wasn't well at all. I stayed for weeks in Brigitte's house because I was so weak. I'm now much better and I live in the compound outside Brigitte's house. When anyone comes to visit, I'm one of the first to say hello (very loudly in case they can't hear me properly).

Karyn and Jeff from Bacchus Marsh in Australia are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SÜA (male)

I lived happily in Fisherman's Village at the Seven/Eleven, on the left side, right before you go through the gate. Dany from Dive Point had been visiting me regularly through the past years. She took care of me and ensured that the neighbor would feed me dry food daily. When Dany saw that I was getting thinner and thinner she brought me to the DRCS in Chaweng. At the beginning I recovered quickly and gained weight. But then they found out that my liver was not OK and that I therefore will be a little skinnier for the rest of my life. Daily I get medicals and nobody is talking about bringing me back to the Seven/Eleven anymore. There, rumors about me are spreading. People even thought that I was dead. They wouldn't believe their eyes if they saw me in Chaweng. I love to stroll around the market during the day. In the evening I come back to the house to have a little snack if the food on the market did not meet my expectations. It is great to have a home and the great freedom at the same time.

After some time at the shelter and outside the house in Chaweng, I got bored and decided to take my life in my own paws again and ran away. While I was living at the shelter, Millika and Tom from the Netherlands were looking after me. Thank you very much.

SIPSIH (female)

My owner had brought me to the DRCS for a month because he had to go to Bangkok. The price for food (20 Baht a day - about 50 Cent) he paid for one month in advance. That was 6 months ago. I haven't heard of him since. His phone number is not existing anymore and I have given up waiting for him. I like it at the shelter and play a lot with the other dogs.

Monika from Vallendar is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

ONE EYE (male)

I was brought to the shelter by a tourist who had found me on the beach. I had a really bad eye infection, so much so that Dr Joe had to operate and take my eye out (the right one). I can manage OK and am quite happy living here at the shelter. I get lots of kisses and cuddles from the volunteers and visitors because they all feel sorry for me. Suits me - I like cuddles.

Great news: I found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the DRCS, Manuela and Anita in Switzerland were looking after me. Thank you very much!
