MOHRCHEN (male)

I came into the shelter because some tourists found me wandering around Chaweng on my own. I was about eight weeks old then and quite healthy. I came to live in Brigitte's house and I had another 17 kittens to play with. I was older than most of them so I led the way exploring the garden. That was fun. I'm so clever that I can steal mice away from the other big cats.

Hurrah, I've found a home with a couple from Belgium who live on the island. They came for a kitten and left with me and four of my playmates (each a different colour). Although I liked it at Brigitte's house, the big cat-eating dogs were very nearby and were always barking. Now, I live with my four playmates in a fenced-off area where there are no dogs. Also, the food I get at my new joint is the soft cat food and not mixed with rice - ah bliss!

POPPET

Sue and Andy from England are now looking afer me. Thank you very much!

SUI (female)

I was trying to live quietly at one of the hotels in Chaweng but the security guard didn't like me and constantly chased me away. He even kicked me. However, he kicked me at the wrong time and he was spotted by some tourists (Jill and Barry). They contacted Brigitte who charged along in her chariot and took me to safety. I now live in the big shelter at Ban Taling Ngam and am settling in very well. Because I am so beautiful, Jill and Barry fell in love with me and they are now my godparents.

After a while I found it to boring at the shelter and decided to run away. While I was living at the DRCS Jill and Barry from UK were looking after me. Thank you very much!

LUNCH (male)

I arrived at the shelter in a plastic bag and was given to a volunteer before my 'donor' escaped out of the gate. The volunteer thought I was something nice to eat (hence my name) but I am just something nice to hold and play with. There are lots of kittens here at the shelter but I am really too mature for them. They play and I watch them play. I like it when we get visitors as they always seem to want to hold and cuddle me.

Hurrah, I've found a home with a couple of nice animal friends  who live on the island. The food I get at my new joint is the soft cat food and not mixed with rice - ah bliss! They promised I can go back to the DRCS any time.

CLARA (female)

I came into the shelter because a tourist thought I was too thin and I was being bullied by the other dogs on the beach. This isn't my first visit here as I came in to be neutered a few months ago. I'm actually quite fit and healthy but Brigitte says I am too thin at the moment to look after myself. I like it here at the shelter and am not frightened by the dogs. I like it here because there is plenty of food and I speak to all the visitors when they come in.

Good news for me as I am now a German doggie living with Marcus & Eva. Thank you Debbie from the USA for looking after me while I was staying with Brigitte. Thank you very much!

PINGU (female)

I was brought to the shelter by some tourists who had found me and my sister wandering in the streets. Brigitte took us in but all she had to do was feed and vaccinate us as there was nothing wrong with us. My sister was rehomed soon afterwards and I hope I will get a home soon. I like dogs but I like humans more.

Maren from Germany was looking after me until Marcus and Eva saved my life and took me to Germany. Thank you very much.

MULLE (female)

The nice volunteers from the shelter did an inspection of all the animals at the temple at which I stayed. They decided that it was not safe for me to stay there as the dogs were constantly chasing me and trying to eat me. As a result, I was brought to the shelter and given an operation to stop me having babies. Brigitte says I can stay here as long as I want. It's up to me. I think I'll stay here for a while.

I ran away, I do not need a sponsor anymore!

MORTEN (male)

I was living at a temple in the south of Samui when Brigitte came on an inspection tour. She gathered together around six dogs and cats and brought us back to the shelter for some sort of special operation to stop us having or fathering babies. I got that treatment! I wasn’t very well after that operation and, after a couple of weeks recuperation, Brigitte decided she couldn’t part with me (I’m such a loveable cat) so here I stay. I like it here and I make sure I say hello to all the visitors when they come to visit me and my fellow cats.

Janne from Norway is now looking after me. Thank you very much.

PIA (female)

I was brought into the shelter by some nice Thai people who had found me in a sewer. I had been stuck there for days and they couldn’t work out where my mewing came from. Eventually, they managed to track me down and pull me out. Goodness, did I stink or what? Even I couldn’t stand the smell of me! Tina, one of the volunteers, donned a clothes peg on her nose and some gloves and she washed the pooh pooh off me and I am now clean and non-smelly.

Great news: I found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the DRCS, Hildegard from Walde in Switzerland was looking after me. Thank you very much.
