MICKY (female) I had been abandoned at the fish market near Big Buddha when I was just some four weeks old. I was too young to be separated from my mother but her owners didn’t care about that. When I arrived at Brigitte’s house, I looked just like her other kittens (Maus) so we lived together in the same basket, drank the same milk and ate the same food. I still live here with Brigitte and I am very happy. Karin from Heidelberg in Germany is now looking after me. Thank you very much! |

MISTY
(female)
After some time at the shelter I got bored and decided to take my life in my own paws again and ran away. While I was living at the shelter, Isa from Germany was looking after me. Thank you very much.

MIMI
(female) I was born near a temple in the west of the island. When I got older the monks decided that I should have an operation to keep me from having babies. The plan was to bring me back to the temple after the operation. But since there are so many cats and dogs living at the temple Brigitte decided that I should stay in the shelter. That's OK for me - there is enough food and water and I do not have ticks or fleas anymore. Catherine from Calgary in Canada is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

SIDA
(female)
I was wandering along Maenam Beach when
an animal friend felt sorry for me and took me to the DRCS. I am still very
skinny and my left hind paw hasn't healed properly after it had been broken.
But I am not dragging it along the ground and it isn't sore and so I am
lucky that I can keep my paw. Marcus and Eva took me to Germany and there they have found a very nice new home for me.

MIKKA
(male) I did not stay at the DRCS for a long time since I have already found a new home on Koh Samui. While I was living at the shelter, Daniela and Claus from Vienna in Austria were looking after me. Thank you very much!

DIANA (female) The dogs on Lamai
Beach did not like me at all and always drove me away. I had to run only
through the water to avoid getting bitten. Tourists watched it for some days
and worried that I would starve or drown. Of course, there was a high risk
that I would be attacked by a whole pack, but I didn't know where to go. The
tourists took me to the DRCS and at that time, I was only three months old.
I did not look for fights and the other dogs did not bite me. |
