HARDY (male)

Don't I look adorable? Some tourists picked me up in Lamai but only after I let them chase me around the beach for an hour or so. They were exhausted but I had a good time. As you will see, at first I was missing some of my fur coat, hence the reason for my visit here at the shelter. I was given special medicine and how my hair has grown back. My post here at the shelter is to protect Brigitte's door. I am on full alert at all times!

Johanna from the Netherlands are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

ELLY (female)

I was brought in from one of the markets in Chaweng. One of the stallholders there was concerned about me and my lack of fur. I had mange - I didn't know that then but I did know that I was very itchy. I came to the shelter in Chaweng where Sakda and Daeng bathed me with special liquid and gave me some injections - I was very brave when I got the injections and didn't yelp at all. Gradually my hair has started to grow back so I was moved down to Ban Taling Ngam to make room at the smaller shelter for sick dogs. I'm living at the big shelter now and I like it. Unlike Tommy, I don't spend all my time eating as a girl has to watch her weight.

In the shelter it was too boring for me, so I ran away. While I was in Ban Taling Ngam Karen from England took care of me. Thank you very much!

SEVILLA (female)

I am one of the dogs that sneaked in to the DRCS. After once more all the dogs were counted in compound no. 9, they found me. I was a "blind passenger". There are two dogs in this compound that look very similar to me. That's why I could run around there unseen. When the helpers found out that I didn't have a green tattoo yet, a big discussion started. At first, I couldn't understand why they made such a big fuss out of that green tattoo. Now I know. All females that have such a tattoo don't need to have babies anymore. Nevertheless, the tattoo seems to be an entrance ticket to the shelter. I now have one as well. Nobody could find out how I got there but I now have a card with picture. I am now a regular member of the shelter an am looking for a sponsor who assures that my bowl is always filled.

Janne from Äkrehamn in Norway is now looking after me. Thank you very much!

BELLA (female)

Ain´t I beautiful? Some tourists brought me with my mother Mandy and my brother and sister to Brigitte's house. My brother and my sister have found a new home already. Since my eyes are so wonderfully blue and I am so cute, Brigitte did not want to give me away. I am happy about that because I can stay with my mom and all the new friends I have made.

I am not looking for a sponsor anymore because I will soon fly to Gertraude in Germany together with Phajung. Cannot wait! Until then, Gertraude is sponsoring me!

TOBI (male)

Some nasty Thai children thought it was really funny to throw me into the sea then repeat the process as soon as I swam ashore. A couple of tourists saved me from the awful children and took me to the local restaurant (The Wave Samui) and they brought me up to the shelter. I'm much happier here as there are no awful children to taunt me. I found a new owner on Samui.

While I was in the shelter Caroline from Switzerland was looking after me. Thank you very much!

OLLI (male)

I was brought to Brigitte's house when I was a little puppy. I had been strolling around the beach in front of the resort "Your Place". The owners there are actually nice Thai people but they unfortunately have two huge dogs already that wouldn't accept me in their pack. Moreover, I had the mange very badly and had to be treated. Mangy dogs are not welcome on the beach since we could ruin the vacation of many tourists. I have settled in very well in the shelter and have many pals my age to play with.

Jenny and Magnus from Helsingborg in Sweden are now looking after me. Thank you very much!

I got lucky! A lovely couple from Germany has adopted me and I now live in their house on Samui.

LONG (male)

I was brought to the shelter when I was about 8 weeks old because I wandered aimlessly and helplessly on the streets. I am a very nice and beautiful dog, so it was easy to find a Thai woman who took me home. When I was about 4 months old this woman found a new boyfriend who didn't like me. As a result, the woman didn't like me anymore and I can call myself lucky that she brought me back to the DRCS and didn't put me somewhere on the streets. After a short while I settled in well again. There are 2 other dogs my age and we play all day long. Meanwhile, I have moved to the big shelter in Ban Taling Ngam and here also, the bowls are always filled up with food. I liked it better at Brigitte's house since there were more people visiting who cuddled me. However, the big shelter is better at rain since there is not enough dry space for everybody at the house.

Albrecht from Geritsried in Germany is looking after me now. Thank you very much!

LUCKY (male)

I was always hanging around Maenam Beach. There I was sitting on the beach with a wound on my head, when Jonas came along and brought me some food. That was delicious! Of course, I followed Jonas to his bungalow where he lived with his wife Elisabeth. I parked myself there and only left to go to the toilet. Elisabeth and Jonas took care of my wound and gave me a bath and I was allowed to sleep on a soft blanket next to the bed. Very soon they realized that I am deaf since I never reacted when they came home and called my name. Therefore, they brought me to the DRCS. Actually, they wanted to give me to some friends but they suddenly didn't want me anymore. Elisabeth and Jonas cannot take me home because they don't have enough space. But they keep on trying and maybe I will fly to Germany one day. Until then, I stay at the big shelter in Ban Taling Ngam. It's no problem for me that I am deaf since it doesn't stop me from playing with my doggie friends all day long.

Elisabeth and Jonas from Augsburg in Germany are looking after me now. Thank you very much!
